Areas of Expertise

Family icon

Navigating family dynamics and relationships

Families shape who we are, and with that influence often comes both love and complexity. Cultural expectations, unspoken roles, or long-standing communication patterns can sometimes leave people feeling stuck or unheard. In counselling, we’ll explore these dynamics together, helping you uncover healthier ways of relating, communicating, and setting boundaries. The focus is not on blame, but on building relationships that feel more supportive, respectful, and authentic.

Managing anxiety and stress

Anxiety often shows up in the body before we even name it, a racing heart, restless nights, or a sense of being constantly “on edge.” Stress can leave you caught in a cycle of pressure and exhaustion. In our work together, you’ll learn practical ways to ground yourself, respond more calmly to anxious thoughts, and reduce overwhelm. The aim isn’t to erase anxiety, but to build resilience and confidence so it no longer dictates your daily life.

Discovering and deepening self-identity

Questions of identity often arise during times of transition, a career change, a move, or a new stage of life. You may find yourself asking: Who am I now? What matters most to me? Counselling offers a supportive space to explore these questions without judgment or external pressure. Together, we’ll look at the influences that have shaped you and strengthen the values and choices that align with your authentic self. The process is about reconnecting with who you are so you can move forward with clarity and confidence.

Coping with grief, loss, and major life changes

Grief touches every part of life, not only through bereavement, but also endings, transitions, and even joyful changes that carry hidden losses. The experience is deeply personal, with no single “right” way to grieve. In counselling, we’ll honour your loss, explore its impact, and gradually find ways of living alongside it. This may include holding onto important memories, creating new rituals of meaning, or rediscovering sources of strength and connection. Together, we’ll work toward rebuilding a sense of continuity and hope, while making room for what comes next.

How I Work

I don’t believe there’s one way to approach counselling that fits everyone. Each person brings their own story, pace, and way of making sense of things. My approach is integrative and collaborative, meaning I draw from different ideas and ways of working depending on what feels most helpful for you. Sometimes we might explore how past experiences shape what’s happening now, while other times we focus on easing stress in the moment through mindfulness, grounding, or simple awareness. We might look at thoughts and emotions, relationships, or the small daily patterns that quietly hold us back. My training and experience have given me a wide range of tools to draw from, but the real focus is how we use them together. I follow what feels true and helpful for you, rather than any fixed method.

At the heart of my work is the relationship we build. Therapy is a space where you can feel seen, supported, and free to explore what’s really going on beneath the surface. It’s not about fixing who you are, but about understanding yourself more deeply and finding steadiness within that. Together, we’ll work towards creating change that feels real and sustainable, helping you move through challenges with more clarity, balance, and confidence in yourself.
